Reporting to the Director of Internal Audit, this internship offers an opportunity to attain valuable auditing experience in a professional environment and gain knowledge of the mutual fund industry as well as interaction with all levels of management within the company and exposure to two public accounting firms, Deloitte & Touche LLP and KPMG LLP. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the performance of audits and company-wide projects
- Performing monthly reviews of shareholder redemption checks
- Performing quarterly compliance audits
- Performing quarterly access reviews
- Performing departmental administrative duties.
While school is in session, this position requires at least 12 hours per week. During the summer (May – August of 2014), this position requires a minimum of 22.5 hours per week (preferably three 7.5 hour days). Students who desire more work hours may work up to 37.5 hours per week. Hours and days worked can fluctuate to accommodate student’s class schedule.
Required SkillsIdeal prospective candidates are 2014-2015 fourth or fifth year accounting majors. A candidate who is detail-oriented, personable, and familiar with word processing and spreadsheet application software is preferred. No previous accounting or auditing work experience is necessary.
